Enrique Aznar 

Founder

Enrique is a business executive in the crypto and blockchain space, with especial focus on preventing and resolving complex risk and governance issues in the crypto-world. In the past, he held senior executive positions in several multinational corporations in the telecoms and technology industries and his experience focuses on corporate governance, risk management, legal & compliance, integrity, blockchain, privacy, corporate culture, mergers & acquisitions and corporate responsibility. 

He has led values-based cultural transformations in technology organisations to help them succeed in facing different market and business challenges and adapt their business models to volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous market conditions.

He has advised on new ways of running organisations by replacing the conventional management hierarchy with power distributed throughout the organisation, giving individuals and teams more freedom to self-manage, while staying aligned to the organisation’s purpose.

He is used to working in challenging and austere environments and he has have a track record of delivering results with minimum budgets.  

He is particularly interested in the impact of technology in society and is involved in a number of blockchain and crypto-based projects that aim at impacting peoples’ lives positively.

Enrique has been recently appointed as a representative for Spain and Portugal of CryptoValley (Zug-Switzerland) Blockchain4Good initiative with a view to identify and implement decentralised solutions with positive social impact.

He is a dually qualified (Spain/England & Wales) lawyer, with an MA on International & Comparative Business Law by London Guildhall University (now London Metropolitan). He has an Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme Certificate by Saïd Business School (University of Oxford), a Certificate on Digital Currencies by University of Nicosia, a Postgraduate Blockchain by BITBCN, a Certificate by IE Law School on Blockchain: Legal Implications and and FT Non-executive Director Diploma. He also participated in several other business and leadership programs by IESE, INSEAD and Stanford University.

He is a member of the Barcelona Tech City and Madrid Crypto Plaza communities and he currently lectures on Business Ethics and on Blockchain at different programs at IE University (Madrid). 

Between 2014 and 2017 he was a member of the Management Board of VimpelCom (now VEON), then a US$13.5bn (operational revenues) NASDAQ multinational telecommunications service company, with more than half of its revenues coming from Russia (Beeline). I

He previously held senior executive positions with Millicom International Cellular, Nokia Siemens Networks, Tyco Intl, Dell Inc, and other positions with professional services firms Freshfields, Price Waterhouse and Arthur Andersen.

He is a co-founder of ImagineLab, a project within Universidad de Barcelona for the transition to a new personal, organizational and social paradigm.
